It’s time for colocation to be more than four walls filled with servers.  A generation ago it was enough to engineer secure facilities, redundant systems and diverse carriers…”ping, power & pipe.”  But these are merely table stakes today.  The modern datacenter also needs to consider business agility, customer convenience and the implications of a multi-tenant community.

In addition to operating innovative, efficient Tier III datacenters, Cobalt realizes that multi-tenancy means each Customer will have unique requirements, talents and timetables.  By definition, one-size-fits-all just doesn’t work in multi-tenant datacenters.  And the notion that datacenters are lights-out, uninhabited machine warehouses is also obsolete.  Colocation today is as much about caring for the people in the datacenter as is about keeping the gear running.
